Meeting with Johann Sebastian Bach
A tour with the Thomas Cantor through the Old City Hall. In an amusing and entertaining way, Bach speaks about his time in Leipzig. At the town model he explains his town to you. At the council table of the historical council chamber he signed his cantor contract and promised „All loyalty and diligence“. In spite of this, his relationship to the Leipzig council , his „strange and little dedicated to music“ authority was often strained. Various contemporary witnesses give us a vivid picture of the composer and his time. The final highlight is the visit of the Bach room with the worldwide only original portrait of the composer.
If desired, with a following organ feast, a banquet, as took place on the occasion of the organ examination on the 3. May 1716.

Reference
Dear Mr Schuchart,
In the course of a long life I have experienced many guided tours. We will remember your Bach tour on Good Friday 2008 as something special. You brought the great musician, whose figure you so excellently represent, close to us in a lively, sound and cultivated manner, as on the evening before the Thomaner choir and Gewandhaus orchestra in the Thomas church.
This tour was far from learned by heart talking away and so convincing. It was simply wonderful. I wish many more people such an enjoyable and successful acquaintance with this great musical personality and you, therefore, good health and a long life.
Many thanks!
Lydia Jantzen
